I wanted to share a place that my family and I visited last weekend in Bogor, west Java. This is Kuntum nursery (Their website can be seen here), and it is a good place to visit to escape from the city hectic stress. Located in Jl. Raya Tajur, you can visit this place by car or any other public transportation provided from Jl. Raya Bogor or using Jagorawi toll road. You either take an exit to Puncak or Bogor, both road can takes you to this place. In any case, if you're driving by car equipped with GPS or using maps from your smart phone, those driver assistance will recognise this place on their maps. So just sitting back and let them told you where to go, and it will surely bring you there.
I have been wanting to visit a place during weekend where it doesn't involved mall or overpriced recreational place where you have to pay another fee once inside. So my wife after browsing some serious time on the website, found this place. A nursery farm where everyone can freely interact with the animals, as well as harvesting the corps planted there. Here, you can either interact, harvest, fish, or even just sitting around and enjoying the view some of Bogor landscape.
My daughter seems like to interact with the animals, so we visit the friendly looking rabbit cage for close encounter interaction with some hare there. For relatively cheap fee, you can buy raw mix vegetables or food pellets for the animals. Don't worry if you don't want to have the saliva of the animals running on your mouth, the staff over there provide you with a spatula to feed the gerbils.
Most animals here are relatively for livestock herd such as cows, goats, chicken, duck, and fish such as gurame. Other than that they also have some squirrels, hamsters, rabbits, parakeet and doves to look at. They included on poster on how to better handling these animals, so read and act accordingly.Other activities also includes harvesting some crops, like lettuce, potatoes, or sweet potatoes - but that require additional tools. But of course you can also wash the dirts afterwards.
Anyway, it is a good place to visit, with relatively cheap expense to made and most tools can be either rented out or provided in the location.
